London Loft House Renovation
The renovation of the London loft house that was mapped out in these slick visualizations, by studio PressEnter Design, features crisp interior styling bathed in soft light, and filled with natural tones.

The brief was to revitalize an old industrial space into a warm and inviting private apartment, complete with modern décor. The firm achieved successful results by mixing smooth beech wood floors against textured gray walls, and interspersing with the warmth of modern wood paneling. The contrast devised by the designers creates a striking finish with plenty of interest as you move from one area to the next.

Glass doors allow a corridor of light to flow unobstructed throughout the kitchen, dining room, living room, hall, office and bedroom.

Fitted shelves flank the walls of several areas in the home, including the bedroom, where books appear to take precedence over anything else, including clothes and accessories; twin bedsides hold simple black reading lamps to illuminate all of that bedtime reading material.

In the bathroom, grey grained wood compliments an architectural concrete finish, freshened by white sanitary ware which results in a hardened look, but the rest of the apartment in softened by curvaceous modern furniture and woolen area rugs.

Living Room Style Statements
Michael Nugroho is the artist behind these three detailed sets of home design visualization, showing contemporary spaces with sleek style, solid sophistication, and bright vigor.

This first concept takes us through an interesting transition in light over an open plan living space, where huge dual-level floor to ceiling windows embrace the natural light of the incoming day, unobstructed by window dressings, from early sunrise till dusk.

As darkness falls the room glitters with the glow from a central cascading multi-pendant light. Inbuilt LED strip lighting runs the length of an extensive entertainment unit, which spans the entire width of the room, drawing focus to the collectibles along its recessed shelf, and throwing soft light along the slab floor.

A vivacious feature wall is home to this room’s sound and vision equipment, creating a design buzz before the electricity is even turned on. A large rug continues the molecular pattern in bright red on white, and a punchy coffee table pulls the two together on a mid height level.

Masculine black furniture is lifted with rich walnut tones, and clean white wall mounted storage units, in this serious yet comfortable space complete with subtle backlit shelving and style statement Eames chair.

Beautiful Designs by Svetlana Nezus
These exquisite home design concepts come to us courtesy of architectural visualizer, Svetlana Nezus. If you are looking for a menagerie of great styles to set your creative juices flowing throughout the home, then this is the place for you.

A dual level home library is the thing of dreams for the bookworms amongst us! Long runs of bespoke shelving house an extensive collection, with a desk providing a study area upstairs, whilst a modern L shaped sofa gives opportunity for long lounging reading sessions below.

Nezus’s traditional bedroom designs are full of character, drawing special attention to chunky ceiling beams and architectural features. Ornate furniture and lighting fixtures add a delicate note over the heavy backdrop, with pale wall colors allowing the pieces to stand out.

More modern sleep spaces appear playful, in cheerfully checkered soft furnishings or bold stripes across bedclothes, headboards, and adorable occasional seating areas. Colorful artwork decorates light walls, bringing moments of intrigue and fun.

A dining room plays across the border of traditional and contemporary for a more eclectic look, using shiny chrome pendants over a curvaceous French 19th Century Louis XVI style dining set.

Japanese styling brings a bold red and black pallet, and strong angular lines to a room scheme.

A stunning mosaic tile arrangement creates an art wall in this bathroom that would look just as splendid anywhere else in the home, or indeed the gallery.

Asian Inspired Interiors
Vietnam based designer, Vic Nguyen, has put together these beautiful visualizations of subtly Asian inspired modern home design, promoting a chilled zen-like atmosphere. In our fast paced lives a little calm is always welcome, so take a moment to relax and take in the cool contemporary charm.

Our chaotic homes are calling out for a temple-like peace, serene Buddha sculptures have traveled far and wide, becoming equally popular in Western homes for this very reason.

Other points to note about an eastern scheme are the deep, rich wood tones against an uncomplicated and cool white background, and the presence of implementing items in sets of two, as seen above in the pair of occasional stools, and below in the dining table feature lighting.

Delicate Fretwork panels introduce pattern without print, and an element of texture within smooth wooden finishes.

Reflective wall surfaces add subtle glamour to this living room, where warm lighting creates an almost golden effect, complimenting the blonde wood floors.

Dreamy floral print wallpaper is weighted on each side by spaced wooden paneling, which also brings characteristic calming symmetry to the room.

A traditional platform bed is given an update with a soft pillow-like base.

Low-level tea tables are seen throughout Nguyen’s designs, an absolute must for an eastern scheme, and one that can be very much appreciated by tea drinkers worldwide!

Beautiful Recliners: Do they exist?
Reclining chairs aren’t typically known for their cutting edge cool design and chic styling, in fact, a beautiful recliner is extremely hard to come by. So, we decided to take a look into this world of comfortable seating to see if any designer had managed to conquer the beast…
There is a very obvious dearth of recliners that don’t compromise on style, throwing fashion out of the window to achieve a comfortable cradle, but this Rofl Benz 577 really does look at home in sleek surroundings.

We also liked a couple from American Leather Marketing that tend to follow the lines of a traditional armchair but look neater in compact proportions. The Gavin model and the Chloe are small recliners in comparison to most classic silhouettes on offer but maintain the highest level of comfort.

The best recliner designs may be recliners that don’t look like recliners, like this chaise-style offering from Pansaonic Yasumi Relax Chairs.

Contemporary colors help modernize the look, and this Venus chair from Fama not only looks the part, but boasts a relaxation mechanism that is operated without leverage, with a simple lean back movement.

The Wink Chair by Toshiyuki Kita, is an extremely unusual easy chair, appearing as though it offers two headrests, but these two pieces cradle the head to heighten the relaxation factor.

Perhaps the most bizarre of the lot is the Varier Gravity balans, which really does look like it is defying gravity on its precarious looking balance points, this may be built for relaxation, but it might feel a tad unsettling teetering on the brink of collapse!

Beachside Penthouse in Israel
This relaxing apartment in Natanya, Israel, was designed by the architectural and interior design firm Domb Architects, for a special penthouse suite in the impressive Opera on Sea project. Located in the high-end residential tower on a sea-facing cliff, the luxurious dual level abode is gifted with a breathtaking view of blue skies meeting the Mediterranean Sea.

On entering the apartment via a distinguished private lobby, the panorama becomes visible from the moment you pass through the front door, as the central space has been designed in an open plan manner, where the lounge, family area, dining room and kitchen zone all meet.

The bedroom and bathroom are also of an open plan nature, with twin marble basins and bathtub clearly visible from the sleeping area, though a partition is available should more privacy be desired. Views over the twinkling lights of the neighbouring cityscape are visible from this aspect, through large windows spanning the full length of the room.

The airy living area opens out onto a large sun terrace that cradles a generous swimming pool, which is also accessible from the adjacent guest suite offering a four-poster bed and ensuite bathroom.

The furnishings throughout the entire home are by Armani Casa, using soft yet warm and tones to give a feeling of intimacy, whilst complimenting the vibrant sea and sky blues beyond.

This dramatic property in Atlanta, USA, boasts five bedroom suites, an equal number of bathrooms plus two half baths, a personal gym to keep you fit, a games room to keep you happy, a music room and an arts and crafts room to get the creative juices flowing, a luxury kitchen and an additional baking kitchen–every home should have one¬–a butlers pantry, flowing entertaining and living spaces, and that’s before you even step foot outside! But then, with all this why would you ever want to leave?…

A sunroom leads you outside onto an extensive sun patio and outdoor lounge areas, which surround an impressive pool. A tennis court lies nearby, and manicured gardens are home to a greenhouse, a four stall barn, a three car carriage house, and a three bedroom ‘guest’ cottage larger than many peoples main homes; all this, and almost six fully enclosed private acres of lush green land, PHEW!

This plantation style estate is completed with the finest finishes, and furnished to the highest standard, all in impeccable taste. The stunning design of the social spaces is almost entirely neutral, with some edgier monochrome schemes picked out in punchy accents.

Upstairs, the bedrooms are each given their own identities with cheerful color combinations in the children’s rooms, whilst the stunning master suite continues the harmony of the rest of the house with a crisp cool décor scheme.

Stunning Underwater Hotel: The Water Discus
Deep Ocean Technology comes to life in the shape of this magnificent Water Discus Hotel proposed to be constructed in Dubai shortly. The structure would comprise of one underwater and one above-water disc, connected by three solid legs that are fixed to the sea bed, and a daylight filled vertical shaft containing a lift and stairway.

Guests are offered the dual opportunity of sleeping deep in the ocean, and bathing in the warm climate on the upper deck. Twenty-one hotel rooms are submersed in the center of a vibrant coral reef with enchanting views of sea life, illuminated with special lighting systems, and offer the use of miniature underwater vehicles equipped with macro photography, operated from your suite, to provide a closer look at the tiniest of creatures. A dive center allows guests to get up close in person, via an underwater airlock and decompression chamber that leads divers directly into the depths of the ocean.

An enormous swimming pool marks the centre of the futuristic sky disc, and adjacent satellites, accessed via glass-walled passageways that tunnel through the diving training pool, hold a restaurant, spa and special recreation area. More seawater swimming pools reside on the rooftop along with an exotic garden, whilst an indoor multifunctional lobby harbors screens that monitor the surrounding aqueous zone, including a peek at diving activities in real time.

Due to the innovative design comprising individual modules that can be detached and replaced with new ones, Water Discus can also be expanded into a bigger resort complex, and may be constructed and reconstructed anywhere in the world, creating opportunities to live underwater on a permanent basis in an unlimited string of locations.

Here is what the view from inside one of those rooms would looks like:

There is a plethora of ideas on the highstreet to create soft, romantic bedrooms, and frills and fancy are all well and good, but how do we go about creating a relaxation space that is edgy and cool?

Little pops of the same color, distributed throughout your space, can be highly effective too, choose a cherry red or sunshine yellow and scatter at will.

An unexpected blast of color against a stark wall is a great place to start, and the ideal application is an oversized headboard, which should span most of the wall space, or the wall behind your bed head; be as loud and proud as you dare!

If you favor a more muted palette, try to be a little gutsier with your shade choices and try an expanse of dramatic slate gray; if you’re not confident enough to slap it on your walls, then how about a large piece of abstract art? You can always change it out later if it’s not for you, or expand on it by painting the surrounding space.

If you have the space, a centrally placed bed is always impressive to behold. Create an audience out of your other pieces of furniture by placing them around the perimeter of the room, and let your bedstead be the star of the show by taking centre stage.

Marvelous Mexican Penthouse
On the 15th floor of a 1970′s Mexican colonial style building, the PPDG Penthouse, designed by Hernandez Silva Arquitectos, positively pops with vibrant red gloss finishes against a fresh white backdrop. The old construction of columns and slabs, located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, provided the perfect basis for the elimination of walls to create one overall expanse of living space filled with light via a new installation of large, frameless windows.

The brief was to create a modern space whilst remaining respectful to the original architecture, which presented the conundrum of how to develop the facade with a contemporary feel without ruining the romance of the building; the end solution was to respect the ceilings, only adding a light white canopy that would not compete with the existing elements.

Jorge Méndez Blake’s mural adds dimension to the plain living area; texture has been favored over pattern in this home, and the various changes in surface composition plays with light to great effect.

Moveable screens were installed in the center of the master bedroom to allow the space to be divided into two sleeping areas when required.

The kitchen is partially screened from the lounge area beyond a stretch of bright red units, whilst a run of white cabinets separates the hallway stairs and elevator. A second elevator was intended for the finished project, but instead, a cloakroom was created with a glass floor that looks straight down the 15-story drop!
